Invisible Conflicts

Invisible Conflicts is an organization located in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, USA as a student group of the University of Illinois and YMCA. The UIUC chapter of Invisible Conflicts is committed to exposing the "invisible" conflicts overlooked by mainstream media, governments, and international institutions. Through making others aware of these conflicts, we will ignite a call to action; giving each person the capability to make a difference through tangible measures. In this call to action we create real and lasting partnerships with the communities we work with to create sustainable solutions through a culturally sensitive lens.

Sisters of Leonsyo - Anaka Project

Jewelry is hand-crafted by women in Anaka, Uganda; a small town in Northern Uganda that has been ravaged by the civil war. As the women try to rebuild their lives, these necklaces serve as a form of income. They are made from magazines and calendars.

All the profits from the jewelry are sent back to Anaka, Uganda where the funds may specifically be used for paying children's public school fees, rebuilding homes, and investing in micro finance.
